A

Yes sir.

Q

Did you see him that afternoon or evening?

A

No, sir.

Q

Didn’t you see him in the evening?

A

No, sir, not that I recollect of.  Say, excuse me please.  I think that I did see him; I think I did see him; I think he came into the saloon.

Q

About what time in the evening?

A

Well it was a little after four, I should judge.

Q

About what time?

A

Along after 4, a little after 4 I should judge.

Q

Now let me refresh your recollection a little.  If you went out of the saloon that afternoon where did you go?

A

Where did I go?

Q

Yes.

A

I went home.

Q

And how long did you stay home?

A

Well I could not say; I went home and looked after my wood, and fed my cow and done up my chores and sat around there with my two girls and finally I went up and sat a while and came back home.

Q

Did you go to Zimmer’s that night after supper?

A

I was in there probably 5 or 10 minutes.

Q

Isn’t that the time you saw Charlie Douck?

A

Well it is possible it might be.
