8:30 o’clock P.M. Coopersville, Apr 11th 1889 Miss Lizzie A. Golden Dennison Michigan
Dear Lizzie:-
As I have just arrived from town I will try and write to you as I agreed.
Mamma was sick when I came home a Sunday and (was in) bed 2 days. To-day (Thursday) she is better and Pappa is sick a bed. How I expect when they all get well I will have to be sick to make it complete. But I hope he will soon be well.
We had a new class come up stairs this term. Prof. Is fearful strict. We can hardly stir without him mad.
Oh girl Lizzie, I forgot. Lester, he is pretty well. You know Flow and I were in the store to-night and Flora asked him if he ever see this ring of yours before. He says why no. He took it and tried it on and it was just his size. I did not tell him whose it was until I got it. When I told him he wanted it again but he got left. I told him that was quite a dandy that he had on. I know he is lonesome because you are not in town.
Katie is making Mrs. John Shaw’s elegant black silk. It is a dandy I tell you.
Mrs. Dan Cleland is very sick and I guess was pretty dangerous for a while.
Well Lizzie how is all of Dennison folks and how is Mary Ann. I guess we will have to give her Dennison yet.
As it is 9 o’clock and its getting late. I will close surely hoping to hear from some time in the week.
I Remain Truly Yours Cassie L. Griffin
P.S. (Respects to all.)
Write soon (Tear this up)
