Muskegon, Sunday 7/26, 91 Miss Lizzie Golden, Dennison Mich.
My Dear Friend: this is a long lonesome day so I thought I would answer you letter. I think it took you a long time to get around to write half a sheet of paper. You must be awful busy.
Has Mary got over being mad because you didn’t get to boat in time. She can lay that all to Kate and myself. I won’t take the blame all to myself, but I presume she has forgotten about that long since.
Well my dear I suppose you had a large time last Sunday at the Haven. I would liked to have been there myself. I am going down to the lake this afternoon. I was out on an excursion on the lake last Monday evening. We were gone from 8 to 11 o’clock. I would have liked it better if you were along. There isn’t any amusements here anymore than there is in C’Ville for me but I like it here better than I did last winter. It is always cool here.
I don’t know when I will go home but I guess not for two or three weeks yet if I don’t have to lay off.
Well, Lizzie, I have written more than you did and it is dinner time so I will close hoping to hear from you soon.
I am as ever Your True Friend Lester Mills 138 Clay Av. Muskegon, Mich.
