Muskegon Heights, Jan 17, 92 Miss Lizzie Golden Dennison Mich.
My Dearest Friend, received your short letter Monday at home. Was glad to hear you were alive and that the dance didn’t make you sick. I had quite a respectable vacation this time but did not enjoy it as much as I would if you had been there. The Gang had one dance at Maxfields while I was there. That was the only party of any kind I went to. I suppose you went to the Masquerade Ball Friday night at the Commercial. I presume it was a grand affair. I don’t know, as I should have gone, if I had stayed in town. But I got a card from the Washing Machine Co. Wednesday morning to come back as soon as I could so I came Wednesday night on the evening train. I have worked three days since. It is awfully lonesome here to day. My partner hasent got back and it so cold you can’t go out of doors without freezing so I don’t know what to do with myself. I wish I was in Dennison or C’ville to day or most any other place except here. Perhaps you imagine about how I feel if you ever felt that way yourself. Why don’t you ever come to Muskegon for a Sunday. If you would I would get a rig and we would take in the town. Well Lizzie, I will have to quit for this time for want of more to say. Give my best to Kate and Mary. I am Your Very Sincere Friend
