Muskegon, Michigan Heights May 12, 1892 Miss Lizzie Golden Coopersville Mich.
Dear Friend, I will now try to answer your last week’s letter. I thought there was no use of writing before as you wouldn’t get it till you got home Friday night. How is your school progressing? I suppose you are just as home sick as ever. I get kind of lonesome myself once in a while. This weather is enough to make a dog hate his mother. It has been cold and rainy here most all the week. I wish it would get warm and stay so a day or two.
Tell Mary I will be much pleased to get one of those pictures you spoke of in your last letter. You know I am not particular and I think the picture is very natural anyway. I am keeping a good place in my album for one of yours, which I expect to get very soon now. I am as hard up for news as you are. I don’t know what to write. There is going to be a surprise party here at the boarding house tomorrow night for one of the girls.
I am going down town this evening as soon as I get this written. I was down last night and took in the opera. I got a letter from my mother today. She wanted to know if I was coming home memorial day. I am writing her that I think not. I suppose there will be a big time here that day. They are going to dedicate the Solders Monument. Well, Liz, I can’t think of any more to write this time so I will bid you Good By hoping to hear from you soon.
I am aver your dearest friend, L. W. Mills
Don’t forget to send that group picture next week. Yours, L. W. M.
