Letter: One page both sides

Paper: Lined paper: 10-1/8” wide by 7-5/8” high

It looks like Lizzie Hoban drew a picture of a small lady in the very top right hand corner of the first page of the letter.  It appears she was drawing a stamp.  She wrote the words 2 cents around the picture.  Underneath the picture she wrote the word “laugh”

A polar bear was embossed on the top left hand side of the letter.  Lizzie Hoben must have colored in the polar bear and then wrote the following words below it.

“This is you, not me”

No envelope

Dear Teacher,

I thought that I would write you a few lines, hoping this will find you well.  How are you getting along this time?  I am pretty well now.  I am lonesome without hearing you scold.  Oh teacher, we had our party up to Miss G. M. Goodenow and I tell you we had just lots of fun.  I wished that you was there and so you had some fun to.

Our bees swarmed three times.  We had terrible work to hive them.

I guess I’m going to stay to Mr. Michxxx a week.  Miss Goodenow was after me.  She said that I should stay with her a week.

Oh, Miss Golden did you have fun on the forth?  I went over to Mr. Lords Tuesday and stayed over the forth and then at night when I came home we slung fire-crackers up high in the air.  They looked very beautiful.  And that is all the fun I had on the fourth.

Dear Miss Golden, I wished that you could be our teacher this term at the xxxx school house.

Well I think that I will close for this time so Good-by,

From your friend,

Lizzie Hoban

Please don’t forget me.  I will never forget you.

Please write soon.

Miss Golden you forgot to ask us those questions.

L. C. H.   The end.
