Berlin, Mich., May 8 1897

Dear Lizzie,

Yours before me for a reply this time sure.   Though it may be that I have not done very much visiting this spring.  8th grade, examinations above have kept me busy night and day.  I start out tomorrow.  There I can fit in three weeks before the May Examinations.  I look over the MSV myself.  It will seem good when I can have some time that is my own again. A relief to them about it.  Yet I will be busy until my term ends.  Don’t try to come up until after July 1.  I have so much to do that you might have to entertain yourself if you come before then.  I am black as a negress.  One of my girls leaves me this week Saturday.  I don’t know how I am going to get along with but one.  They have the house cleaning done.  Well then comes a caller.  Nothing new.

With love,

Dode
