Dennison, Feb 6, 98

Dear Lizzie, -

 

I have decided to have the social Sat evening Feb. 19, one wk from next Sat. night.  Do you think that will be all right?  If there are any objections to the date, any thing else going on that you know about, that would interfere, let me know.  You will sing.  I’ll expect you to.  Any selections you wish.  Sadie and Willie will give instrumental duets on organ and violin.  Will they not!  You will be apt to see them before I do.  Tell them not to refuse and have them sing also.

 

Lizzie McGrath will play I expect.  If you know any one else that can assist us in music or reciting, let me know.  I have a number of promises.  The last week has been so terrible, I could do nothing about social.  If the roads are better, I will come up to see you some night this week.  So we can talk over matters and make arrangements.

 

Ask everybody you see to attend with a well filled pocket book.  i.e. the boy.  Girls with a well filled lunch box.

 

Write me by return mail, that I may know whether to proceed with announcements.  Want to send some invitations to Advent and wonder if Mart could get a load from Herrington, and Etta Fitz. from her school.

“Sadie and Willie”:  Sadie Golden was Lizzie Golden’s sister.  William Golden was Lizzie Golden’s brother.

 

“Lizzie McGrath”:  Lizzie McGrath lived next door to Lizzie and William Fitzpatrick.  She lived on State Road just west of the Fitzpatrick Farm.

 

“Mart”:  Martin Golden was Lizzie Golden’s brother.

 

“Etta Fitz.”:  Etta Fitzpatrick was William Fitzpatrick’s sister.
